Not an issue if you have a small handful of emails, but a headache if you have hundreds or thousands of emails. By marking all emails as read, then unread seems to unconfuse - technical term =) Outlook.Īlso, I have concluded it is better to also flag my unread emails to ensure I will also be able to located them as sometimes, when you work too quickly and you toggle the unread emails filter, the last email you selected will become read, and if you select unread filter again, the email will no longer be unread and you'll have to rely on your memory to locate the email(s). If you filter by unread emails, you should see all your unread emails - Your Welcome =)įor me anyway, I think Outlook must have got the unread "flags/switch/indicator/" confused. I normally sort by date received (newest on top). You can sort the emails however you like at this point. Select all the emails you want to mark as unread (these should be flagged and the ones you previously selected) and set them as unread. Select all the flagged/unread emails and mark them as read. On the General tab, select the Show total number of items radio button and click OK. The Properties dialog displays for the selected folder. Sort by flagged emails so they all appear at the top of the viewing pane. To do this, right-click on the Deleted Items folder (or a Mail folder of your choosing) and select Properties from the popup menu. Unfortunately, you may have to scroll through your emails. This worked for me (Outlook for Mac - Nov '22) and is a more reliable way to track unread emails.įlag each unread email.
